BROADWAY, Va.----2011 was a year to remember for the Broadway Gobblers. Gang Green, going all the way to the state semifinals riding a 12 game win streak before falling to Christiansburg without senior starting quarterback Quinn Arbogast. This season, with a new signal caller under center, Dane Spitzer, the Gobblers are hoping to bring home a state championship.
The experience his team gained by making a deep postseason run has coach Brad Lutz excited for 2012. He says his team is hungry for more after coming so close to playing for a title. Back on offense are seven starters, including the Valley District's leading rusher Trevor Bostic who ran for more than 20 touchdowns in 2011.
Offensively, the Gobblers will base out of multiple formations, including the Pro-I and the Spread. Defensively look for Broadway to primarily run a 4-3 or a 4-4. Broadway has not lost a regular season home game either of the past two seasons.
