James Madison announced Monday that Bill Phillips will take over the director of operations duties for men's basketball for the Dukes.

This isn't his first experience with the Dukes' current head coach. Phillips was a player at Saint Joseph's when current JMU head coach Matt Brady was an assistant coach.

At James Madison, Phillips will have multiple duties, including the day-to-day operations of the team, including travel, academics, on-campus recruiting amongst others.

Phillips comes to JMU from Division II Philadelphia University where he worked as an assistant coach. He also spent eight seasons of professional basketball overseas, playing for 10 different teams in five countries.

Phillips graduated with honors from Saint Joseph's in 2001 with a bachelor's degree. He also acquired his master's degree in financial services from Saint Joseph's the following year.
