Players Changing, But Not Red Pride

GREENVILLE, Va – The goal each season at Riverheads does not change; the Red Pride want a state championship.

2010 was the last season the Gladiators brought home a state title, but with a combined 3 losses in the past two seasons, Riverheads is eager to earn a little more hardware.

This past season in 2012, the Gladiators lost only two games, both to Wilson Memorial by a combined 5 points. The second loss came in the second round of the playoffs, ending the season for Riverheads.

Gone from last year's team are 22 seniors, including number 22 Logan Moore, who rushed for more than 5,000 yards in his career. That won't change the offense much for Riverheads though. The Gladiators plan on maintaining their ground based offense out of the Wing-T formation they've run for more than a decade. Defensively, they'll base out of a 4-3.
