GREENSBORO, N.C. - Stevenson University snapped Bridgewater College's three-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory Saturday at the Greensboro College tournament.

The Eagles are now 3-2 on the season while Stevenson remains unbeaten at 3-0.

The contest was scoreless for the first seven minutes before action was stopped due to storm activity in the area.

After a long delay, play resumed and Stevenson took the lead in the 31st minute on a goal by Ashlyn Hawbaker.

Bridgewater evened the score in the 40th minute on an unassisted goal by Melanie Waters as the teams went to the half tied at 1-1.

The Mustangs regained the upper hand in the 50th minute on a goal by Jamie Matlock and an insurance goal in the 78th minute secured the 3-1 win for Stevenson.

The Eagles held a slim 9-8 edge in shots in the first half, but the Mustangs kept the pressure on the Bridgewater defense in the second half with a 14-5 edge in shots in the final 45 minutes.
