Suns Relocation To Winchester Meeting Protest

Some Winchester residents don't like the idea of building a stadium in a city park for a minor-league baseball team.

The owners of the Hagerstown Suns in Maryland signed a letter of intent last month to move the club to Winchester, provided certain conditions are met by April 17. One condition is for city officials to take all necessary actions to build a stadium.

Media outlets report that most of the speakers at a public hearing Tuesday night oppose a plan to give land in the park to Winchester Economic Development Authority for the multipurpose stadium.
