Eleven games remain in the regular season for the second place Harrisonburg Turks. That includes one last match-up against Front Royal, who still has the league lead by just 1.5 games.
Friday's game against the Cardinals could go a long way in determining the regular season title in the Valley League.
However the last ten games have proved that they Turks are trying to find consistency.
Harrisonburg is 5-5 in its last ten games, including a doubleheader split against Covington Tuesday night, but one veteran player is staying optimistic.
"I feel like our talent level could carry us a very long way, said third-year Turks infielder Thomas Smith. "I think if we just get everyone clicking at the right time, I think we can make a run at this thing. That's usually what happens with championship teams. You have guys all clicking at the right time, certain guys picking you up in certain situations. Hopefully we get some of that."
