The top ten of the Sports Network's preseason FCS poll, released Thursday, mirrors the coaches' poll released earlier this week.

It includes Appalachian State at No. 1, with defending national champions Richmond second, Villanova fifth, and James Madison at No. 6.

JMU hosts the Spiders and Wildcats on back-to-back Saturdays in October.

Seven CAA teams cracked the Sports Network's Top 25, including New Hampshire at No. 8, William & Mary 14th, Massachusetts 17th, and Maine at No. 19.

All those teams except New Hampshire are also on JMU's 2009 schedule, as are Liberty, Delaware and Hofstra, who all received votes for the Sports Network poll but didn't crack the Top 25.
