Former JMU Assistant Added to London's UVA Staff

Former Old Dominion assistant coach Chip West is the fifth addition to head coach Mike London's football coaching staff at Virginia.

Thirty-nine-year-old West was the assistant head coach, recruiting coordinator and defensive backs coach under Monarchs coach Bobby Wilder as Old Dominion restarted its football program in 2009.

The Hampton native joins Anthony Poindexter, a holdover from Al Groh's staff, and former Richmond assistants Vincent Brown, Jeff Hanson and Mike Faragalli on London's staff, although the assignments for each have yet to be announced.

London also brought former director of football operation Steve Atkinson with him to Virginia from Richmond. Atkinson will serve as the director of player development.
