Safety Jonathan Williams has been dismissed from the James Madison football team.
Coach Mickey Matthews said Tuesday that Williams had been booted for an undisclosed violation of team policy.
According to Harrisonburg Police, Williams was arrested early last Saturday morning for public swearing or intoxication.
Williams and three teammates, brothers Jonathan, Peter and Anthony Rose, had been suspended for spring practice after all four were charged with felony assault last December.
Williams, a rising senior, had started the last 11 games at weak safety for JMU. He was fifth on the team with 65 tackles in 2010, and also had two interceptions and a fumble recovery.
