Quinn McDowell scored 23 points to lead William & Mary over James Madison 73-67 Wednesday night.
McDowell was seven of ten shooting, including four of six from three-point range, as the Tribe (7-16, 3-9 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 56.8 percent from the field (25 of 44).
William & Mary led 17-14 with 10:15 left in the first half before scoring 11 straight points. Brandon Britt's jumper capped the spurt with 6:27 left in the half.
The Tribe shot 59.1 percent before halftime (13 of 22), while holding James Madison to nine of 32.
Julian Boatner added 15 points, making all five of his three-pointers for William & Mary, which snapped a four-game losing streak.
James Madison (17-7, 7-5), which leads the CAA with 73 points per game and is second in field-goal percentage (46.1 percent), shot 38.1 percent (24 of 63) against the Tribe.
Julius Wells scored 19 for the Dukes.
