The James Madison men will be making their second postseason appearance in the last three years.

The Dukes learned late Sunday that they will play 7 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson, in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational tournament.

Both teams are coming off upset losses in the first round of their respective conference tournaments. JMU (21-11, 10-8) lost 72-68 to 11-seed William & Mary in the CAA Tournament, while UNC-Greensboro beat Davidson (17-14, 9-8) 71-64 in the opening round of the Southern Conference Tournament.

The 16-team CBI features first round games Tuesday and Wednesday. Quarterfinals are March 21, semifinals March 23, then the best-of-three championship series begins March 28.

Virginia Commonwealth won last year's CBI.

JMU made its last postseason appearance in 2009, when the Dukes reached the semifinals of the inaugural CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
