Turner Ashby senior Claire Capasso likes to stay busy. "I try my best to be a part of as many things as I can and I try to be a part of everyone else's lives," says this week's student athlete of the week Claire Capasso.
"That's what makes her unique is that she's not willing to step back and watch, she wants to be involved, she wants to improve her world," says Claire's art teacher Cynthia Shank.
"She has the will and she knows that she's going to achieve whatever she decides to do. If you have two people, she's probably going to come out on top," Claire's cross country coach Dwight Denlinder.
She maintains a 3.8 G.P.A., already has college credits in multiple classes and is a three year letter winner in academics.
"It's the desire to learn more, the eagerness to learn more. To grow, to not be inside of a box, but to expand her own world."
Claire is a leader athletically as well. "She's been all district in three sports, all region in cross country and swimming, and she's the cross country district champ.
"Anytime you see someone who gives 100% it's harder not to do the same thing yourself. She's definitely the leader of this girls' cross country team," says Dwight Denlinder.
"Knowing that I can be the best that I can be and I know that I can push myself, motivates me to be the best that I can," says Claire Capasso.
"She's a very strong willed person and she can will herself to achieve what she sets as a goal to achieve," says Dwight Denlinder.
