Alyson joined the WHSV team as an anchor/producer in March, 2011. Alyson is no stranger to Virginia. She produced the nightly news for WFXR in Roanoke and also is a Liberty University Alumni. Alyson comes to WHSV from Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she worked as a reporter/producer for the ABC affiliate. There she had the oppurtunity to cover several breaking news stories that made national headlines. Alyson grew up north of Chicago and developed a passion for watching the news long before other children flipped on the television in search of cartoons. In college she was both a news and entertainment intern at FOX News Chicago. She also was a news reporter for her colleges T.V. station, assistant news director for the radio station and wrote for the awarding winning newspaper. Alyson finds anchoring in the Shenandoah Valley a refreshing and energizing experience and looks forward to meeting new people.
