Tim Wronka joined the WHSV News Team as a reporter in June 2011.

His broadcast news career started at Florida State University in 2006, where he was an anchor at the campus radio station, V89. He later became the news director there and co-hosted a weekly talk show on politics and current events.

After graduating, he worked for News Talk AM 820, Tampa’s ABC radio affiliate, as a traffic reporter and news anchor. He was right in the middle of the 2008 Presidential Election, as Florida was a major battleground state and he covered each candidate that came to Tampa Bay. He also covered the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team for ESPN Radio during their American League Championship runs.

In 2009, Tim moved to Miami to work for Metro Networks where he reported news and traffic for several radio and TV stations across Florida. He also reported from a news chopper there, and even covered some national stories from the air like the arrival of the infamous “Barefoot Bandit” at Miami International Airport.

Even though Tim grew up in East Hanover, New Jersey near NYC, he considers Tampa Bay his home as that’s where most of his family and friends live. Still, he’s happy to be living in the Shenandoah Valley now and is excited to explore the area!

Tim is a diehard Florida State football fan (sorry Hokie and Cavalier fans), and when he’s not cheering on the Seminoles, he enjoys the rest of college football as his favorite sport. In his spare time, he likes to read, play sports, go to the beach, play his sax, enjoy movies, and spend time with friends and family.
