Carly joined WHSV in January 2013.
She's a Carolina girl at heart, but she's not new to Virginia.
Before TV 3, she worked as the Positively Virginia reporter and the 7 p.m. producer at WSET-TV in Lynchburg. While there, she launched Positively Virginia, a part of WSET.com that features local community news.
Carly worked as a one-man-band reporter for the weekly segment on WSET's morning show. During her time as a producer, she covered the officer shooting at Virginia Tech and the 2011 earthquake in Mineral.
Before working at WSET, she produced and reported for the award-winning show Carolina Week at UNC-Chapel Hill. During her time at WSOC-TV in Charlotte, she honed her multimedia skills and worked with the web team. In 2008, she traveled to northwestern Peru to report about global health issues.
In her spare time, she enjoys experimenting with gluten-free recipes, singing and running. She also loves animals, especially her puppy.
