Name: Brooks Wagler
Title: Weekend Sports Anchor / Reporter
Email Address: bwagler@whsv.com

Brooks hails from the small town of Archbold, Ohio, and is the son of Tim and Sherry Wagler. Growing up, Brooks attended Zion Mennonite Church, and is thrilled to be living and working with the Mennonite community of Harrisonburg.

Brooks attended, and graduated from, Archbold High School. He was a starter on the Blue Streaks 2005 Division III State Championship Baseball team.

After a one-year break from school, Brooks enrolled at The University of Akron in the fall of 2007. During his years at Akron, Brooks worked for the University’s radio and TV stations. He will always be grateful for the experience he received from the WZIP-FM and ZTV programs.

At WZIP-FM, Brooks was a member of the Sports Department where he was a Co-host of “Sports Power Talk” a weekly live sports call in show. Most of his time though, was devoted to ZTV where Brooks worked as an Anchor, Reporter, Producer, Writer and Editor.

In August of 2011, Brooks graduated with honors from The University of Akron, with a double major in Radio/TV and Psychology.

In December of 2011, Brooks was hired by WHSV TV-3, to be the new Sports Reporter and Weekend Sports Anchor. This is an opportunity that Brooks is excited for, and is motivated to become the best at what he does.

Cleveland is a city that Brooks will always love with a passion, even though most don’t understand why. He is a big fan of the Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers no matter how many times they have left him heartbroken. Brooks says the greatest day of his life will be, when he can celebrate the city’s first championship since 1964.

In his free time, Brooks is an avid runner and weightlifter, who everyday try’s to set new personal goals by pushing himself to the limit.
