Assistant Chief Engineer for WHSV

Essential Functions:

• Installation, maintenance and repair of all technical equipment
• Must be familiar with information systems infrastructure relating to broadcast technical systems
• Must have working knowledge the latest operating systems software, including server and desktop operating systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections to reduce equipment failure or accidents
• Ascertain and satisfy other departments’ needs for service
• Familiar with network routing and IP addressing
• Have expert knowledge regarding equipment, technology, and systems and be able to step in an assist in emergency situations
• Assist in developing and implementing Capital and Operating budgets
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry changes
• Must be available to work during breaking news situations, severe weather, new system integrations and updates, and provide on-call services 24-7
• Display and maintain professional appearance, based on station standards, and professional demeanor

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publishers, Access)
• Ability to promptly transition among and between job assignments, projects, and functions

Educational Requirements:

* Associates Degree in Electronics or Equivalent College Degree

Experience Requirements:

*3-5 Years in Broadcast Television
* Strong IT networking experience and experience with operating systems software including server and desktop
* Must have a working knowledge of Avid software packages, AutoCAD LT, Microsoft Office, Editing software, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro/Avid Edit, automated production systems, master control systems, and Motion Graphics

Physical Requirements:

* Stand, sit, read a computer terminal, lift up to 50 lbs

Work Schedule:

* 5 days a week, full time hour shifts, weekends and holidays required for special events
* Schedule may change based on business needs
* On-call for technical emergencies
