Turner Ashby's Caroline Young has earned an "A" in every class she's been in since the sixth grade.
"Something less than an "A" is not good enough, and I put the pressure on myself," says Young.
"She's very intense in the classroom, but at the same time she's just a gentle spirit so it doesn't come across as overbearing, it's just genuine," says teacher Dee Grimm.
It's no surprise Young has a 4.2 GPA. She's also the co-founder of the Knights' Pre-Med club, as Young would like to be a nurse practitioner or a doctor.
"My mom is a nurse, and my aunt is a nurse practitioner so I've always got that medical aspect," adds Young.
She's been named All-State, All-Region, and All-District in track and holds the school record in the 800m and 1600m.
"It's like my hard-work has done something," says Young.
"I think one thing that stands out about Caroline is she knows what the right thing is to do, and she's going to do what she needs to do to meet her goals," says track and cross country coach Dwight Denlinger. "She's that focused and that driven with what she wants to accomplish."
Speaking of accomplishing, Young still has one more thing on the to-do list.
"I'd really like to become a state champion," says Young. "That's always been my goal, so I'd like to fulfill it my senior year."
