Broadway's Adam Caplinger has turned himself into what opposing defenses fear - a dual-threat quarterback.

"He's developed so much, not just from last year but from week one," says Broadway head coach Brad Lutz. "He's leading our district in passing categories, but he's also a big part of our running game. He's not only allowing things to develop from his arm but his running game also."

Caplinger, who was tabbed All-Region as a sophomore, is on his way to another 1000-yard season through the air. On the ground, he's averaging over six yards a carry.

"It means a lot to play quarterback here because I like being a leader to all my other teammates," says Caplinger. "It just feels great getting the wins."

Caplinger's been in contact with some colleges including Bridgewater, but he's undecided at this point.

"I just really love football, and I think just playing in the college atmosphere would be awesome," says Caplinger. "If I get a chance to do that, that would be great."

His grades are also working in his favor. Caplinger's near the top of his class with over a 4.0 GPA.

"Adam is very dedicated," says English teacher Kevin Turner. "He's a nice individual, he's mature, he has positive interaction with his peers, and being such a good athlete he's a well-rounded individual."
