Michael Marston has become Central's "King of the Paint."
"I think it's fun because you get to beat and bang a little more than most other positions would," said Marston, referring to center.
"He's a tremendous part of our program this year because he's got the 6'4", 6'5" frame," said head basketball coach Roger Wilkins. "He's very athletic, jumps better than anybody in the program and one of the best athletes on the team."
Marston is a key reason why the Falcons are off to a fast start this year. He's averaging double-digits in scoring and just under ten rebounds a game."
"He's worked hard on his scoring," added Wilkins. "Scoring is relatively easy for him, I just don't think he tries to score enough, he's very unselfish. If he keeps working and really applies himself to the sport, Michael could go a long way down the road, maybe somewhere next year in college."
His schoolwork is top notch. Marston says he has to get good grades, because his mother is a teacher.
"She tries to motivate me by saying she finished third in her class," said Marston. "She tries to make it a game, since I'm competitive."
"He turns in his work on time," said teacher Meredith Bauserman. "He's very diligent about getting his work finished and turning it in and doing well on it especially."

Michael I am so proud of your accomplishments! It is so fitting that you and Aaron have this honor of being a athlete of the week. Michael is an exciting player to watch, especially with his dunks, I haven't seen this at CHS for a while. I know I will enjoy the rest of the season.
