Page County's Dakota Wolf has a problem, a very good problem.
"We have this conversation at my house, me and my dad talk about it a lot," said Wolf. "Football has always been what I've wanted to do, but everybody around the school seems to think I'm a better basketball player."
On the court, Wolf is averaging more than 20 points and ten rebounds a game for currently the fourth best Single-A team in the state. And he's on pace to be just the second player ever to break 1,000 points at Page.
"He's a coach's dream in terms of leadership, coachability, and he brings the total package," said head basketball coach Michael Purdham.
But Wolf's true love is football.
"Pretty much since I picked up a football, it's been what I've wanted to do," said Wolf.
"You're talking about one of the top quarterbacks that ever played at Page Co.," added head football coach Frank Comer.
Wolf says he's going to play in college next fall, and says his top choice is Campbell University at the FCS level.
Wolf capped off a stellar high school career, picking up the Shenandoah District's top award this past season.
"That's quite a feat to be on a 1-9 team and to be selected as the Co-Offensive Player of the Year," said Comer. "And we're really proud of him for that feat."
Academically, Wolf is ranked fifth in his class with a 4.2 GPA.
"He was never late on anything," said teacher Deborah Norton. "He never made an excuse for anything, and he was just a phenomenal student."
