Virginia State Police say a juvenile and domestic relations court judge from Wytheville is charged with driving under the influence.
Sgt. Michael Conroy says 43-year-old Judge Michael Keith Blankenship was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Smyth County.
Conroy says a trooper pulled over Blankenship after getting a call about a vehicle being driven erratically on Interstate 81.
The judge was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a Breathalyzer test.
Blankenship hears cases in the 27th Judicial District, which covers Montgomery, Floyd, Giles, Pulaski, Carroll, Wythe, Grayson and Bland counties and the cities of Radford and Galax.
No court date has been set.
