The head of the Richmond teachers' union and another man are facing road rage charges over an incident on Interstate 95.
A state trooper stopped 52-year-old Wade Ellegood and 30-year-old Edward C. Doyle III around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after seeing them trying to cut one another off on the interstate in Richmond. Virginia State Police Sgt. Tom Cunningham says they were charged with misdemeanor assault and reckless driving.
Ellegood is president of the Richmond Education Association. He says he regrets chasing Doyle, who he accused of scraping his vehicle while passing him in the left shoulder of the interstate.
Both men will appear in court on Thursday.
