A Yorktown man and Virginia Beach woman are being charged with attempting to hire someone to disfigure the man's ex-girlfriend.

Police say 32-year-old Chadwick Deforest and 62-year-old Shirley Eanes offered someone money to attack Deforest's ex-girlfriend so that she was "disfigured and assaulted to the point that she was hospitalized." He also wanted her truck vandalized.

Police say Eanes helped Deforest arrange a meeting in Suffolk where he paid for and planned the attack.

Deforest was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, solicitation to commit a felony and attempted aggravated malicious wounding. Eanes was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.

Both are being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
