A couple who obtained a marriage license and exchanged vows in Virginia before officials realized both were biological men will not face charges.

Same-sex marriage is illegal in Virginia, and the pair had faced misdemeanor false information charges.

Authorities say 31-year-old Antonio Blount and 18-year-old Justin McCain married in March. Officials realized later that McCain was actually born a man in North Carolina.

In a letter to Newport News Circuit Court clerk Rex Davis on Monday, Newport News Commonwealth's Attorney Howard Gwynn says based on the facts of the case, charges aren't warranted.

Here in Massachusetts where gay marriage is legal nothing has changed except gay & heterosexual couples have equal rights. For those who are uncomfortable with this check out our short produced to educate & defuse the controversy. It has a way of opening closed minds & provides some sanity on the issue: www.OUTTAKEonline.com

Boy I'm sure glad America was saved by stopping someone from getting married. This could have destroyed the country. Why are we wasting time talking about the war in Iraq, foreclosures, $4 gas when the threat of same sex marriage is coming at us like an atom bomb affecting literally hundreds of people. Thank heavens for these vigilant people who have saved us from complete and utter ruination.
