Relatives of victims of the 2007 shootings at Virginia Tech say the university should release all its records so that others can learn from the events.
University officials say they're partially reversing their decision to withhold certain documents related to the shooting rampage by student Seung-Hui Cho.
Under an $11-million settlement with the victims' families, the school promised to set up a public archive with key facts about the shootings.
Suzanne Grimes' son was among two dozen injured people injured in the shootings. She says she doesn't understand why Virginia Tech doesn't release all the records.
University spokesman Larry Hincker told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that the school will release some documents from an emergency meeting held by senior officials on the day of the shootings. The school also will release Cho's academic records, but not his health records.
