Snap, Crackle and Pop are getting a second chance.
The three juvenile Kemp's ridley sea turtles were rescued in July from the cooling water intake canal of a nuclear generator station by the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, New Jersey.
They were brought to the Virginia Aquarium, where they've been undergoing rehabilitation.
The aquarium said Thursday that its Stranding Response Team will release Snap, Crackle and Pop from Cape Charles on August 26.
Assistant Stranding Coordinator Christina Trapani said Cape Charles was chosen because the Chesapeake Bay is a critical habitat for the turtles.
