Ohio Democratic Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones is being remembered by her colleagues as a tireless worker for her constituents and for the causes she believed in.
Her Ohio colleague, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, said he's "devastated." He said Tubbs Jones "poured her heart and soul" into her job, and that her death is an "incalculable loss."
Democratic Congressman Kendrick Meek of Florida said Tubbs Jones had taken him under her wing.
Tubbs Jones was a passionate backer of Hillary Rodham Clinton for president. And the Clintons issued a statement calling her "a one-woman force for progress in our country."
Barack Obama called her "an extraordinary American and an outstanding public servant." President Bush said the nation is grateful for her service.
Tubbs Jones died Wednesday from a brain hemorrhage caused by an aneurism. She was 58.
