Campgrounds and cabins in seven Virginia state parks are being closed because of potential wind damage and flooding from Tropical Storm Hanna.

The state Department of Conservation and Recreation said the closings Friday and Saturday include First Landing and False Cape parks in Virginia Beach and Kiptopeke on the Eastern Shore. Campgrounds also were closed at Chippokes Plantation, Belle Isle, Westmoreland and Shenandoah River parks.

The department said people planning to visit a state park after the storm has passed through should call the park to see whether it is open.
