A poll that gives Barack Obama a six-point lead in Ohio finds that his advantage in the Buckeye State results largely from concerns about the economy.
The poll by the Washington Post and ABC News finds Obama with the support of 51 percent of the people surveyed, compared to 45 percent for John McCain.
And those who say the economy is the biggest issue favor Obama by a margin of 61 to 34 percent.
In two other Midwest states, the race is either a bit closer or even. A poll by CNN and Time Magazine in Wisconsin finds Obama ahead, 51 percent to 46 percent. And in Indiana, a poll by WISH-TV finds the race even, with each candidate getting the support of 46 percent of the people surveyed.
