Police say a feud between two fraternities at Roanoke College apparently escalated into theft, assault and other incidents.
Salem police arrested three members of Sigma Chi and one student who's not a fraternity member following a week-long string of incidents that began on Halloween. The fraternity members are charged with breaking and entering and battery, while the fourth student is charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny.
The incidents included the theft of a student's computer and the assault of two students during a break-in.
Salem police Lieutenant Mike Green said police believe some of the incidents were related to a feud between Sigma Chi and Pi Kappa Alpha.
Roanoke College spokeswoman Teresa Gereaux says both fraternities have been placed on probation.
