President Barack Obama will head to Russia soon and is reminding its top leaders that the Cold War is over.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Obama says it's important that former Russian President Vladimir Putin and his hand-picked successor understand that the old Cold War approaches to American-Russian relations are outdated.
Obama says Putin still has "one foot in the old ways of doing business." Obama says the focus of his Moscow visit will be to advance talks on a new strategic arms reduction treaty. The current one expires in December.
On other matters, Obama tells The AP that he could see abandoning his own proposal to indefinitely hold some terror detainees, and he says he thinks the Supreme Court is "moving the ball" away from affirmative action.
