More than 100 workers at Shorewood Packaging in Newport News will lose their jobs by September.
The company, a division of International Paper Co., filed notice with the state earlier this week that it would cut 105 jobs in its lithographic printing operation by September 25. The company said the cuts were necessary due to dwindling demand.
Shorewood will continue to operate its gravure printing shot, which prints packaging primarily for the tobacco industry.
The company said displaced workers will be eligible for severance packages and outplacement assistance.
