A Metro spokesman says the agency will review the way it notifies an oversight committee of accidents after failing to notify the committee of a maintenance vehicle crash over the weekend quickly enough.
Metro officials say a maintenance vehicle carrying 20 workers hit a rail truck on icy tracks Saturday night, causing a domino effect crash that damaged at least four vehicles. But Metro's own safety office apparently did not know about the crash for more than 30 hours according to the oversight committee chairman. Metro is supposed to notify the Tri-State Oversight Committee within two hours of an incident.
Metro says there were no reported injuries, but the crash came less than a week after two workers were hit by track equipment and died.
