The recent heat wave may not be good for all plants, but northern Virginia winery owners say the weather is good for their crops.
Lew Parker owns the Willowcroft Winery in Loudoun County. He says that the dry conditions in Virginia are good for the wine, and drought improves the wine's flavor.
But it's not all good news. When wildlife in the area has a hard time finding food because of drought conditions, they make their way into the vineyard. Deer, birds and even bears have been seen in the vineyard because of the grapes and juice.
Virginia wineries are small but recently have gained recognition and are growing in popularity.
