Congressman Jim Moran says the House has passed funding for several transportation projects in the Washington area.
The bill provides $3 million for improvements to the 14th Street Bridge. The money will be used to build a merge lane from the bridge to the George Washington Parkway in Virginia.
About $500,000 in federal funds will go to Arlington County to implement a new traffic monitoring system along major roads to help reroute traffic in an emergency.
Metro is also in line for funding. Moran says $400,000 dollars will go to safety enhancements for the transit system, including cameras on buses.
