RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- The Virginia Division of Forestry has closed Paul State Forest in Rockingham County to clean up trees felled by storms.

The agency said Wednesday that the 173-acre forest will be closed for at least six weeks.

Area forester Bruce Harmon says in a news release that three storms caused significant damage to more than half the forest. He says it's not safe for the people to be in the forest while the work is being done.
