Police say a man is in custody after shooting at the opposing attorney in his child custody case.

Chesterfield Police Capt. David Pritchard said the man shot at the attorney at the entrance to a law office across from the Chesterfield County Courthouse around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Neither the man in custody nor the attorney was immediately identified.

Pritchard said police believe the shooter fired one shot, which missed the attorney. Two others received minor injuries as they tried to run away from the scene.

The shooter has not yet been charged.
