Forecast Discussion

We'll be cloudy and chilly for Trick-or-Treating tonight. Shower chances increase as we go throughout the evening, especially west of Interstate 81. Temperatures fall through the 40s for Trick-or-Treaters.

Eventually, lows are expected to fall to the mid to upper 30s overnight. During that time rain showers transition to snow showers in our western mountains - mainly in West Virginia. A few flakes mixing with rain are possible for the Valley. No accumulation but everything looks to be a cold rain.

Cold and blustery Saturday; the first day of November. Look for a mostly cloudy sky, gusty north winds and highs only in the low to mid 40s. When you factor in the wind, we'll feel like we're in the mid to upper 30s at times. To add insult to injury, occasional rain showers are likely. During the morning hours, snow showers are possible in our western mountains. Taking all the above into account, we've issued a Yellow Alert Day for Saturday. Brace for the coldest air of the season.

Gradual clearing, windy and cold Saturday night. Lows near freezing.

Sunshine returns Sunday with highs in the low to mid 40s with a strong northwesterly wind. Another blustery day. Watch for a hard freeze Sunday night as lows tank into the 20s.

Highs warm to the mid 50s Monday, then mid 60s Tuesday. Mostly sunny both days.

**REMEMBER: Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend as we return to Standard Time. Set your clocks BACK one hour before going to bed Saturday night. It's a good time to check the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
