People in Staunton got their fair share of ice Friday. Windshields and sidewalks were very icy during the morning hours.

Salt trucks were out cleaning up the roads, so driving wasn't too hazardous and some individuals took it upon themselves to spread their own salt to keep parking lots and driveways clear and safe for people.

Staunton public works crews were also very instrumental in keeping ice off roads and sidewalks in downtown Staunton Friday morning.

Douglas Moore, H&R Contractors, says, "I've been up on the road since 4 o'clock this morning. And I got one more to finish up."

Officials also say this storm could have been much worse than it was.

What is the matter with people? We had a worst ice storm previously-this was NOTHING. People were crazy in the markets, acting like they were going to get snowed in for six months! Get a grip! God forbid they be stuck in the house for a couple of hours on one day!
