Residents in Swoope claim to have seen a tornado-like storm pass through the area on Thursday night. The event occurred at around 8 p.m. on Bradford Street.

Steve Hartzog was one of the witnesses to the storm. He said it never touched down, but it did damage his home and surrounding areas.

He said a patio table was thrown 20 feet in the air and shingles were torn from his roof. The whole experience lasted less than a minute with strong winds but little rain.

"This was something that was so sudden and so scary and so frightening just by the quick onset of it," says Hartzog. "How quick it was here. How quick it was gone. Really unnerving."

The National Weather Service must still investigate whether this damage was caused by a tornado.
