Tornado Confirmed in Saturday Storm Save Email Print

The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Elkton Saturday.

Just after 3 p.m., an EF-0 tornado briefly touched down on the banks of the South Fork of the Shenandoah River along Park Avenue.

The twister's path width was about 70 yards and it was about a quarter of a mile long.

It brought wind gusts of 50 to 70 miles per hour.

What about Rt. 11 near fellowship road in the Lacey Spring area? I heard one was spotted there also.
