The National Weather Service has just confirmed there was a tornado in Page County Wednesday.

The EF-1 tornado occurred in Stanley and had peak winds between 90 and 100 miles per hour.

NWS officials toured the area Thursday and spoke with area residents.

They say the extent of the damage and how it was laid out led them to the conclusion it was a tornado.

Page County was under a tornado warning for part of Wednesday night while the Valley was hit by storms. Storm damage was wide spread, extending from Page County to Augusta County.
