Some people around the Valley are seeing snow less than a month into the fall season.
About two inches fell Saturday night in Linden. Residents say it started around 9:30 p.m. and then temperatures dropped below freezing.
Fortunately, the roads stayed mostly clear because of Sunday's warmer temperatures.
Residents say they're still surprised to see snow before Halloween.
"I'm amazed. It's the 18th of October, and generally it doesn't snow like this until much later. I don't believe we got much snow last year at all, mainly ice. So this is pretty amazing," says Linden resident Robb Foster.
Shenandoah National Park also got snow. The park even closed its entrances, allowing only those who were already in the park to stay inside because of road conditions.
