Snow in October is a rare thing in the Valley, but it has happened before.
We spoke to Clayton Towers, a TV-3 weather watcher in Bridgewater.
He has detailed weather records going back decades.
Towers says we've had flurries in October before but only one measurable snow event., which was in 1979 and that event was the earliest snow on record.
But this could still be a history making snow event Friday night.
Towers says, "This will be the second one if it accumulates.
I'll be up and down like a yo yo watching to see when it changes over to all snow and yeah, I don't sleep much on nights like this."
Towers says snow doesn't have to be a bad thing because it's putting moisture in the ground.
