All over the Valley, the rainy weather and flooded roads were keeping crews busy.

The Virginia Department of Transportation was out clearing debris and monitoring roads, since many roads were still flooded Wednesday morning.

Baldrock Road in Verona was one of the many areas being monitored.

Marshall Barnhill, a VDOT spokeswoman, said it was mostly secondary roads that were a concern.

Because there is more rain expected later in the day Wednesday, she says crews would be staying out to make sure things were safe.

High river waters next to Baldrock Road have some Verona residents concerned, and one neighbor says debris in the water could present a problem later on.

"After all that rain we had, the river water is really dirty. I'm seeing a lot of sediment, and that's a great concern," explains Charlie Huppuch, a retired forester who lives in Verona. "Lots of materials can clog up the river, and it begins to withstand the flow. That can make it more difficult for the water to get through."

VDOT is warning drivers, if they see any signs in the road warning them about floods, do not move them and drive through.

Barnhill says the signs are there for a reason, and you could be putting your life in danger by passing them.
