The Virginia Department of Transportation has closed several roads in Shenandoah County because of high water.
As of 11 p.m. on Wednesday, 11 roads in the county were closed.
VDOT officials say they have put cones on the roads to prevent drivers from going through standing water. They say drivers should not drive around the cones or remove them.
There is also a risk of the puddles on the roadways freezing overnight, with temperatures expected to drop into the upper 20s on Thursday morning.
VDOT crews will be ready to put down ice or sand on frozen spots.
