An early March snowfall created a messy commute for drivers in the Shenandoah Valley.

The snow quickly stuck to the roadways in Augusta County, causing numerous accidents.

In Staunton, police put out a warning asking drivers to stay off the roadways unless absolutely necessary.

They reported numerous accidents and cars off the roads as a result of the slick conditions and snow.

On Route 42 in Augusta County, WHSV saw several cars that had slid off the road and into the ditch.
