Some people had to be driving on Labor Day to get back from their vacations.
However, the roads weren't nearly as busy as you might think.
The Neese family is from North Carolina and drives through the Valley frequently on trips to visit family in Pennsylvania, but this trip was a bit different.
Steven Neese says the travel delays weren't from the usual holiday traffic.
Neese says, "It was very light, not much traffic. We've been stuck on I-81 before and I thought that we'd have trouble getting back during Labor Day traffic.
Neese says the rain wasn't too bad until they reached the northern Valley, and the further south they travel the worse it seems to get.
Neese says, "It's been very nice other than the rain, we ran into some heavy rain."
Although they are still worried about the bad weather they will continue to see, Neese is just thankful that they're aren't as many travelers on the road this year.
Neese says, "Visibility has been a little rough but because of the light traffic I would say it has not been that bad."
A long night ahead, but some have a big day tomorrow.
Neese says, "We'll probably get home about 12:30, and the kids all have to go to school tomorrow."
