An embankment in Bergton that had been washing away was completely gone as of Tuesday.
Woody Brown lives in Bergton and was driving by when he saw the water flowing above ground level, rushing all over the road.
He says cars were stalling or getting stuck because the water was at least a foot deep.
He says employees with the Virginia Department of Transportation came and made a make-shift embankment to help with the water, but it was just a mess at the time.
"I was surprised when I came around the turn and it was out that much, yeah. And then it was just right on down the road, over a quarter of a mile down there and it was full. It was just everywhere," says Brown.
The church across the street from the creek has at least six to eight inches of water in the basement because of the embankment washing away.
